so i broke down
I am finding some nice little bikes for sale. Hey SKROOZE, here is a xs650 that is for sale. I am trying to get hold of the seller now (just listed it). I think that this bike may have some potential.

what're they asking for it?
sabotage, that's an XS650 in that pic, same as what mine started out as. XS's are by far the easiest bikes to chop, and find parts for. that particular bike still has alot of stock parts on it. front end, wheels, brakes, motor, front half of the frame, etc. mine's a bit more on the extreme end, having alot of harley parts, wider rear wheel, 21" front wheel, etc. the biggest issue when using a wider wheel is chain alignment. i had to make sprockets from scratch for the most part. there is a guy selling a "wide tire kit" that supposedly clear a 200 on the rear, but it's $400. all it really is, is an offset sprocket for the front, a charging cover spacer plate, a shift shaft extension, and a longer clutch rod. not worth $400 IMO. i did the same thing for under $50. his kit still doesn't accomplish anything on the rear end either. the XS needs a stupidly small (32t-34t) rear sprocket, and most people who run a wider rear wheel use a harley wheel, like i did. the problem is, no one makes a sprocket that small (or even close) for a harley style hub. hence why i had to make a rear sprocket. mine cost me $6 and a 12 pack, lol. it pays to have friends in the right places.
if you want to do an XS powered chop, i can set you up with the guy in jersey that did my frame, he does some seriously nice work, for real nice prices. if you go to www.thechopperunderground.com and look around, you'll see alot of his work. he goes by "dirtnap" over there. i haven't seen him around much lately though, but i need to get in contact with him soon, i'm supposed to be building a 1200 sporty motor for his personal bike.
he's already set up to do just about anything to an XS frame. i've talked to him about doing other bikes, but he'd have to build a motor jig for whatever bike needed to to be done, so it would probably cost more to do.
gazoo, did you sit on my bike at all? it's not uncomfortable at all. i mean, i wouldn't ride cross country on it or anything, but for as low and stretched out as it is, it's plenty comfy. well, it is a rigid frame with a springer front end, so it's only gonna ride but so nice. a regular hydraulic front end on that bike would ride much better (but wouldn't look as good
). my last XS i built had a stock set of forks on it, and it rode just like any other cruiser.
as far as "blacker"... lol, just wait. all that shiny chrome is getting powdercoated in various shades of black, gray, and a lil blood red later on down the road. it's a never ending project.

is this the ''wide tire'' kit you were talking about? http://www.bwchoppers.com/mainsite/offset
I've ventured out a couple times...kinda scary sometimes! This place can't be as bad as Tidewater Racing's site...they are the kings of drama queens...and really, really don't like bikes...
Went to the Events page...https://www.vadriven.com/forums/events-12/gt-live-oct-6th-7th-2007-vir-177178/
And to the For Sale page...https://www.vadriven.com/forums/domestic-66/96-gmc-2500-sclb-%246500-norfolk-va-205636/
I know the guys on the events page for the GT Live/ XDL Show are going to see the cars...me the bikes.
And the sale page is just a shameless plug!!!
