Default Just in from the drag strip

Well I haven't actually started a thread in here in while, just got in the door from test and tune at virginia motorsports park and i'm stoked to say i'm in the low 10's stock. The strip was so empty it was great, you could run back to back over and over if you wanted but i tried to give my clutch time to cool down. Best run was my first with a 10.3 @ 145mph, after that i kept having trouble with my quick shifter missing 2nd gear, i think i was getting overly enthusiastic leaving so i slowed it down the next two runs and it caught 2nd fine but i'd be babying it so much out of the hole it wasn't helping my ET's. And i couldn't decide if i liked leaving with my shifter foot on or off the peg, both feet on the ground i'd rip out of the hole but struggle to get my foot on the shifter in time for the 1-2, leaving with it on the peg i wasn't as confident to float the front but would catch my shift every time, now i see why the fast guys like air shifters. But i got my 60 foot times into the 1.8's which is a personal best, theoretically if you compare my best ET sheet with my best 60' sheet I could have been in the 10.1's if i could have put my good starts and good middles into one pass. But I'm just happy, after last time out running 10.7's my goal was to get into the mid 10's, so skipping them and going straight to low 10's i exceeded my personal goal for today. Next time out i'll have it slammed so i'm crossing my fingers for 9's.

Thats Awesome! I'm hoping for high 10's when I have my bike back up and running. It's a Harley though so I probably won't see anything past 13's.

So when are you installing an air shifter? How much time do you think and airshifter can knock off?

G'luck with reaching the 9's!

the gsx-r 1000... the f4i i just use on road courses

not going to put on an air shifter just because i also take this bike on road courses and ride it a ton on the street, so the dynojet quick shifter is the best for all kinds of riding... but it would be really nice to be able to leave the line with my feet hanging and not worry about catching 2nd

it has engine mods, but unlike cars that doesn't do anything really for your 1/4 mile times on a bike if you aren't lowered or extended, since stock power is more than you can use, hell the extra power might even hurt because thats all the more careful you have to be leaving the line

its all in suspension to really get your times down, and next time out i'll have the front and rear lowered(only for the strip) and see what it and me can do
