Gas
The bike had been running on 87 since day 1. As soon as I opened it up fully it ran like shit with the 93.
Went back to 87 right away and she ran perfectly.
Not that hard to comprehend.
there was SOMETHING amiss there. the main thing higher octane is for is anti knock in higher compression engines. granted if the octane levels are too high, it'll run hotter, but you're still talking pump gas, so there's no way that going from 87 to 93 octane made your bike run rough, let alone rough enough to "buck you off" even with the moderate compression of your f4, it should've run just fine on 93. there had to have been something wrong with that gas, like some sort of funky additive or something.
octane:
n : any isomeric saturated hydrocarbon found in petroleum and used as a fuel and solvent
higher octane fuel is MORE explosive than lower octane fuel. hell, you could've run 115octane av gas, and it've run fine, just hot as hell.
there HAD to be something wrong with the gas you got from mark. maybe water? maybe alcohol? maybe some additive? maybe it's just cuz it was "yamaha" gas that you put in your honda?? you know you can't mix that stuff...

If there was SOMETHING amiss there then it would STILL be amiss right?
That was about 4 years ago and I haven't ever had the same reaction from the bike because I've never again put anything but 87 in it.
i meant amiss with the gas you put in it, not with the bike itself
