I wouldn't advise sneakers.......................or jeans.

ya didnt wreck today, thank goodness, and ended up running 11.55 @ 126mph on my 3rd run...ever, haha.

and it turns out at MIR what i wore was straight, but if you run 10s or lower then u need leather pants, and i think boots

 

i'm about wearing gear, but i don't know why anyone would wreck drag racing

The most common mistake is not slipping the clutch out but dumping it and throwing the front wheel way up and losing it that way.

 

or not having enough grip due to whatever reason (track prep, cold tires etc) and trying to ride out as your tire wants to scoot sideways

 

but most i've seen are guys on 400 hp drag bikes that are hard to control, how many videos are there of regular joes wrecking at the drag strip... and then compare that to probably how many tens of thousands of people go down the strip every year... i've spent a good amount of time at drag strips and out of hundreds or even thousands of passes, i've seen ONE guy wreck ever, and he was like 16 and sprayed his already fast busa in first gear

 

Not to critique you, but the guy that looped the busa spraying was a grown ass man. He was racing a 16yr old for $500. Regardless most crashes at the strip are due to mechanical failure, I've personally only seen one (said busa in earlier post).
