90% of the reason motorcycles aren't "safe" is because of the other people on the road. I ride almost every day, and almost everyday I have to pro actively do something to avoid a person in a car.

RIP man. Always hate to hear about a fellow rider down no matter what the cause.

Backed off the pursuit my ass. 99% of cops in VA get a massive boner to run you over if they can-matter of fact a VA trooper once pointed at his front bumper and told a group of us he would use it on anyone that ever ran from him. To them he's one less biker they have to chase. I'm glad I don't live in that shithole of a state anymore. Fuck Virginia cops. And RIP.

 

First RIP to the Ricky, didn't know him, but I hope the best for everyone that was involved and to his friends and family.

Secondly, I'm with you Armenian, my friend used to work as a 911 dispatcher, every high speed chase that was called in to her, she said all the cops in the area would try to jump on it, and by all, she said at least 4-5 cop cars would be drooling over who got to receive it and this is in Fairfax.

 

I'm not sure about VA but in some states if a cop runs radar and is sitting still he can't chase when a bike is going 100 plus.The cop said he got up to 145 before backing off ( i read on another site).Sad to hear another rider down no matter what he did. RIP
