rprsntng757 had a xbox in his car for a while. im pretty sure he didnt do it himself.
no, I did it myself. That was about 2 years ago, I don't remember what I used, but I know it was an inverter on the battery, with a barrel fuse, both mounted under the seats.

as far as a 360... I 'm surprised no one has said this yet, but they eat disks when the get moved slightly, it might not be the best idea to have in a car.

I'm not trying to get flamed for a useless postor be a dick or anything, but why DO you want an xbox 360 in your car? So if you go somewhere you can stop and play xbox? Or purely for the bling factor? Like "Bla-dow, I have an XB360 in my whip."

Its all about the bling factor. Why do most people put video game systems in their cars? I was actually bored...and wanted to see if I could do it. I was actually able to drive around about 10-15 minutes with my friend playing it before the fuse blew, and I didnt have problems with it skipping or scratching a disk. I do know they are touchy though, so I tried really hard to avoid any big bumps.

Cool, just asking, it does sound like an interesting electrical project if nothing else. Good luck with it!

hey while being on topic on electronics. When people relocate there battery to the trunk and connect the existing power cable in the front to the battery in the rear. Is there a need to put a fuse on that battery power cable near the battery?

Yes. If you don't, the entire section of cable from the battery to wherever the fuse is will be unprotected. If that cable then becomes pinched, cut, etc., you have a major fire hazard with an entire battery's worth of current behind it.

Agreed. I don't even play video games and I'm still interested in the logistics of doing this (for some reason..).

Too much for a cigarette lighter man.

Wire it directly off the battery with some serious gauge wire, put a nice size fuse in it, and give it a shot.
