cant you get the car inspected by DMV and have the title made "rebuilt" or something?

 

a salvage title is actually called a salvage/rebuild title anyways. when purchasing my lude i took out a loan for the full blue book value of the car no problem (around $8k at the time) and it had a salvage title. i used the extra dough to pay off my bike so i could have one centralized payment that i could double up on if i needed to. no problem with insurance. i had a $2300 claim and they didnt total the car, so that shows that it is still holding pretty good value if they didnt total it.
