The entire state of Virginia is a dam speed trap. All roads are under what the speed limit should be. According to the way 264 is built it the speed limit should be 65 to 70. All because VA is a comonwealth they make their own rules. But you should do the speed limit to avoid tikets.

Actually, most highways are designed for speeds much higher than the posted limits. That is only one of the criteria for determining a speed limit though. The biggest criteria is traffic volume. A 70mph speed limit with bumper-to-bumper traffic is a fatality waiting to happen. That's why the higher speed limits are limited to more rural roads with less traffic.

Believe it or not, speed limits are more for the general population's safety than they are for revenue.

 

for reckless driving its a $3000 fine and you have a period of 3 years to pay it. thats not including your insurance doubling and court fees. i got reckless driving for doing doughnts in a parking lot and i got off with 40 hour community service. and this was when i still had my PERMIT.depends on the judge you can get a mean ass judge. ps. around next year they are changing that law about paying 3k to normal.
