LOLZ...........this being said by a police officer, however I do agree with the above statement.

But yeah, good luck on the racing ticket. Hopefully you'll get a judge who has an unfavorable view of the civil remedial fees and drops it down.

Well.. Update.. $300 fine, 10 days in jail 6 suspended, so I just spent the past 2 days in jail since it was only a misdemeanor (sp?).. Kept my license tho, no suspension on it or anything.. I woulda walked out but I had a previous reckless back in 03..

I have an expired Illinois license and two cars titled here in the state of Virginia. The amount of 21 year old lawyers on this site amazes me, everyone knows the laws except the actual laws..........

You still got off lucky, that fine was minimal, and keeping your license is very rare. I have escorted in my share of repeat offenders and the majority paid much more than that, average of $800 and as high as $1500, loss of license for 6 months, and a couple of days in jail.

oh trust me.. I know I got off pretty easy.. The judge was in a really good mood that morning.. I wasn't the only one getting off easy.. She was dismissing tickets left and right.. Let alot of people go with less than 100 dollar fines..

aight a little peace of mind your not gonna get hit with the fines if your a registered driver out of state. I myself got hit the night i got my license for a 98 in a 55; no turn signal, wreckless driving, following to close, and wreckless endangerment. all i had to do was driver improvement i had 8 wreckless tickets before i was 18 and somehow managed to never lose my license and i yet never hired a lawyer. then once i turned 18 i started gettin a lawyer because the judges knew me and threatend jail time. in your case i recomend meeting with a lawyer keep inmind they are going to give you worse case scenario. also they will tell you or try to convince you that you need them. but in all reality under 18 first offense driver improvement isnt so bad, but 8 hours with your parent in a room basically going through drivers ed again trying not to fall asleep is what its about.

Robert E Long was my lawyer. I was charged with 102 in a 55, and evading. He got both charges dropped. This was by far not my first offense either.
