Very true, but its a good starting point. I've had them before, and deadened and sealed them and they worked out.

Bridging an amp will never make it sound better; it will always cause higher distortion. Whether the higher distortion will matter or not is a different matter, but the distortion will always go up. You're going in the wrong direction by bridging the amp if you want sound quality.
