Slicks Vs. Drag Radials
i broke a passenger side axel with bfg drag radials. mabye thats cuz i didnt have lsd idk but i liked the drag radials after i "broke them in" as i would call it. when they were brand new they didnt hook as good as the did with half the tread gone. i found 13psi to be the best working psi for me. i guess depends on the track and on the car. im trying to sell my used bfg's if interested. 225/50/15. pm if interested.
The focus of doom just got nitrous and when i was at the track a while ago i spun pretty badly so I'm sure with a 75 shot it will only be worse. Did you find that you could launch a lot higher with the slicks? Did you have to feather it any?
yes, you can definately launch higher in RPM. and as long as you know how to feather, you can adapt to each launch. do you always have to feather. nope. do you sometime, yes. preload the clutch, and then launch.
slicks > radials.
I had to race the entire 2007 season on radials. great challenge to learn, but hard on parts.

Unless you just have extremely rediculous amounts of horsepower then I would go drag radials. You can drive them on the street and a good set of nittos will stick much better than you would expect. I've never needed anymore than dr's and I know a guy with a TT viper that ran 7.80s in the quarter on nitto drag radials. However I guess the fwd factors in as well and they are more prone to breaking shit too, but I would beef up the axles and run dr's because then you can play on the street too and they last longer.
But then again, if you don't mind swapping wheels and tires then slicks will have more bite and look cooler too.
