Default My answer to all these exhaust tickets...

Get a downpipe, headers, whatever... then slap a cutout right after it and run a stock exhuast all the way back from that.

How did you get two tickets for having a cutout? They're 100% legal because you can retain a fully stock exhaust system minus the actual cutout. I can see if you got a ticket for using it on the street, then that's your own fault for getting caught.

Can't see what the link goes to. By chance, is it the valve for open headers? I was thinking about getting two of those for my car. I guess I would need them welded into the straight pipes.

That pertains to the topic at hand....

They're a good idea but really I'd rather have the performance all the time and just spend the money on a free flowing exhaust that is actually fairly quiet.

A quiet free-flowing exhaust... that's an oxymoron
The good thing about the electric valve is that you have open headers/etc at the flick of a switch.
