If you go for the G35, make sure its an '04 and up. From what ive heard, 04 and up will have the AWD traction system on them. But im not sure if its available in 6 speed

Regardless of what car you purchase, after 3-5 years, sometimes less, the value will be roughly half as much as what you paid new.

I believe BMW's and Benz's have some of the HIGHEST resale values you can find.

Mine was 21 a year ago with 72k miles, 1997. It was a little over priced but I wasn't going to do any better than 19, and it had rims/exhaust/rare color. The cars actualyl keep their value very well. Waste of money? haha.. nice.

Although I was going to wait til tax season was halting I ended up purchasing an 02' BMW 325ci manual silver on black 17,800 miles. Got a pretty damn good deal, ran into a friend in need of money badly and I made the 8,000 dollar payoff and gave him a bonus 2,000 because he needed the money right then and there. Oh well, got out of financing one more time :P Just couldn't pass that deal up. How hard is it to mod a BMW yourself and how expensive are aftermarket parts etc. Anyone have any links to some BMW sites and what not? I'm more of a truck person usually so I really have no damn clue about these damn european cars with their plastic coated engines. Also if someone can hook me up with some links to some aftermarket sites so I can get a general idea of how much this thing is going to cost me to make it a bit faster as well as all the technicalities involved.

Thanks guys

I'll help you out.. let me know what you want to do with the car. There are a LOT of sites out there, www.mmstuning.com has pretty much anything and everything you could want for your car, www.uucmotorwerks.com is another good one with some unique parts. If you want the best exhaust I'd go with Eisenmann. For your car I'd estimate about $900 but nothing beats the sound of it.
averages... exhaust = $800, 7hp maybe.. intake = $350 for CAI with big cone filter and heat shield/heat cover.. might get another 8-10hp, a chip (i think they make shark injectors for that car) will run $350 and plugs in to the car's DME port, reprograms it, and you are set. That gives you up to 40hp in some areas of the RPM band, about 10hp at peak, works better with exhaust and intake. Raises rev limiter and takes off top speed limiter. Headers are worthless, $800 for 5hp tops.
The cars are very well tuned from the factory, especially engine parts - they've been making engines for a VERY long time, race car engines at that. Why do you think McLaren picked them?

Mods for your car are going to make your car feel different (take out the luxury feel, make it more sporty) and sound different, but won't make it too much faster. I'd go for visual stuff, get some angel eyes (www.umnitza.com) HIDs if it doesn't have them, lower it, maybe get a front lip spoiler, the 330 rear spoiler looks pretty good too (the factory one.)

let me know what else you want to know.. and congrats

edit: just to set things straight about running FI in BMWs, it's a pain in the ass. If you want a reliable setup get ready to pay half the value of the car, in your case.. almost entire value of the car. You can't just slap it on and tune it a little.
A supercharger system for your car will give you 256hp to the wheels, but cost 6k lol. You might want to look in to that actually, it comes with front mount intercooler, front mount oil cooler (SC has it's own oil supply.) Everything else you need for totally reliable system. www.aatuning.com custom systems on BMWs = blown engines
