kit car emissions

It really depends on the production date of the engine being installed. Not the car chassis.

Example is an '85 engine in a '70 year body, it would conform to the 85s emissions standards.

im not sure about how it is with kit cars, but i know if you have a body from a 60s car and you put a 90s motor in it, it still only has to conform to 60s emissions, not the emissions on the motor. i would assume its the same with kit cars?

Yeah, I guess it would be different on a kit car.

I also might be thinking of CA emissions laws where everything is certified and they actually check. But I could have sworn I saw what I stated in a manual when testing for my State Inspectors license- 9 years ago :X
