It's Official, Chevrolet officially announed today that...
i remember hearing or seeing something that Chevy said that try very hard to keep the price at or under 30K for the Camaro
It's not like when LS1's came out they were inexpensive. Maybe everyone has just forgotten since the last one was made in 02. I had the original sticker from my TA. Fully loaded, M6, 2001 TA (non-WS6) sticker was 26K. The WS6's and SS's (especially 35th anny's) went for more than that. I can see the new Camaro easily selling for 30K+. That's a lot of car for that much money IMO.
I wish they would bring back the Firechicken. I heard a rumor that the new GTO will be built right beside the Camaro. We shall see... Either way I am going to buy one of them.
I, personally, like the GTO. The fact that other people say it looks like an oversized Grand Am or Grand Prix doesn't bother me cause it doesn't at all. I'd like to see a new GTO since the Bird will not be coming back.
Which is a little over 28K in 2005 dollars. So you're right, 30K seems like a perfectly reasonable price.

Hell $30K for 400HP at the crank isn't a bad deal at all. Personally I hope they keep a live axle rear end (as long as it isn't a POS 10 bolt) for a little bit better aftermarket support and to help keep the price down. Once again we shall see...
Unless an LS7 goes in the Camaro(which I doubt it, it'd be faster than a C6, and cost less...), by time it comes out, you could get a used C6 for the same price or less. You'd look better, be just as fast(assuming it uses an LS2 or the up and coming LS3 I think I've heard about?), and of course, be driving a vette...
