I think the torque is still the same, but I could be wrong. Well the EVO is running 18psi stock I believe. It could be max out already. But STi can beat a EVO on a straight away all day long. But when it comes to twisty roads, EVO can take the STi.

The MR is going to be the only lancer that matters anyways. I'd think if Subaru doesn't step it up another notch the MR will have them in every aspect.

sorta off-topic. does anyone know why subaru changed the bolt pattern of the STi wheels? and while talking about STi...I hate the silver used on the interior in them (and wrx)

Standard EVO's keep the same 271 hp. The new EVO MR comes out in 2005 with 281 hp plus all the upgrades you mentioned, along with a standard 6 speed. Its a lil more expensive, but still somewhat cheaper than the STi (don't remember the exact estimated MSRP though).

I will take an EVO over an STi any day. The car is more well rounded. Both cars were bread for the same reason, but the evo WILL out perform the sti on a road track, on a straight line the sti will dominate. Me, im a straight line person, but the evo looks better.

I also heard the new evos are going to come with a new clutch that lasts almost 5000 whole miles before it self-destructs...
