I would go with a 351w because the block is stronger and can be a 408 later. I'm not sure I agree that a 347 makes more power than a rebuild 351 which would be a 358.
I have a buddy who is gonna sell me some twisted wedge heads for $1000, they retail for about $2000. they are a little used but hes going with a different setup and cant use them.

To me, cast just seems like OEM type stuff. I mean, If i can get the whole kit, balanced and all for around $1000, then I should be good to go, cause like I said, i already have the other small shit waiting.

And the reason I am going with a 347 is I already have a spare block sitting around doing nothing,

Is your spare block set up for a 347?

What kind of power do you want out of a stock block?

It's not set up yet. When I get back to VA in 3 weeks, I'm going to take it to Performance unlimited and have them bore it .40 over, bead blast, acid wash, magnaflux and zero deck it, then when I get the kit I'm going to take it back and have them notch it. I'm not looking to get crazy amounts of power, 500 is a good number at the flywheel for me.
