Focus people
Either way, I love SC vs TC race, never know how the outcome will pan out.
You won't find too many DE swaps in a 240. I've heard of a VE swap, but never anyone who swapped a DE.
Just so everyone knows, most 00-04 non-svt focus's with all bolt-on's, a tune and cams (no headwork) make somewhere in the neighborhood of 135-140whp/tq. I just dynoed 136.4whp/133.6wtq at focus-power in Charlotte with all bolt-ons, ford racing stg2 cams, and a XCal2 tune.
SVT's can probably get around 150-155whp and 140wtq. The new 2.3 and 2.0 duratec's can spew out greater numbers than that, but most people don't have the money to mod them. They haven't been out that long and the parts are pretty damn expensive.
Anyway, they aren't fast at all until you get into the turbo applications. www.focus-power.com has a 10 sec. focus, along with a low 12sec focus. Neither of these slips were put on the site as he's retired now.
Just my $.02

Um... you do know there are two different 00-04 non-svt focus motors right, SOHC and DOHC which vary between 20-30 whp.
Describe what you mean by "all bolt on's"
3 Types actually. The 2.0 liter SPI (Split Port Injection), the 2.0 liter ZETEC, the 2.3 liter Duratec 23E PZEV (Patial Zero Emissions Vehicle) and of course the SVT motor (Basically an upgraded ZETEC).
Yeah actually I can, although I can't provide the proof you desire. Mine was pretty fast and I beat plenty of 12 sec cars. There's a guy in carolina with a 10 sec turbo focus.
This guy ran a 12.9 with just an intake

ZX2 bottom end CGI block with esslinger 4 bolt mains, O-Ringed deck, JE pistons, Crower rods, a moldex billet crank. ZX3 Roush WRC Head, with square ports and a much better port angle than stock, cosworth buckets, web cams and custom springs. It has a sheet metal intake, a 3" mustang throttle body, a custom Kiwi exhaust manifold and down pipe, Barnes oil dry sump, custom fuel rail, and a Weldon fuel pump. The Turbo is a T4with a tial waste gate and blow off. This is connected to a Quaif 6 spd trans with a tilton triple carbon clutch, with Sway-Away 300m axles, 935 CV’s connected to 2 15/10.5/28 MT slicks. The rear end is a custom Strange strut and brake assembly. One piece carbon Kevlar front end with a Jerry Bickle mount kit. Custom Bickle wheelie bars. Aluminum dash and door panels with Defi gauges and a sparco seat. This car is still a unibody.

I'm not gonna look for proof all day, but you of all people should know that any car can be made fast. I can make a 9 sec kia sephia if I had the money.

I went to the guy's place in NC.. he has an SVt set up for drag racing.. it will run 12.9's with it's full interior but that's after it's been turbo'd and tuned for a week or two, and a LSD added! the SVT is black. His road race car is a white non SVT, completely stripped interior, and obviously turbo, LSD...
Also there are 5 different engines.
2.0L SPI (SOHC)
2.0L Zetec (DOHC, iron block, aluminum head) 6800 redline
2.0L Zetec (SVT - ST170 from Ford of Europe, different aluminum head w/ oil squirters, VCT on intake cam, dual intake runners, higher compression) 7200 redline - able to up to 7800 but not more than 8000 due to oil pump being shitty
2.0L Duratec (aluminum block and head) 6700 redline
2.3L Duratec (aluminum block and different head, different stroke) 6700 redline
The focus is not a good car to buy if you want to "drag race". It is a good car if you take it to road courses and autocrosses. FWD = teh suck in drag racing - on launch a typical vehicle will transfer 75% of it's weight to the rear wheels.
An intercooled Vortech SVT focus will run high 13's with a good driver and good weather. It will put down in the neighborhood of 250 to 260wheel horsepower and 210+/- ft pounds of TQ...
The SVT gearing sucks in first (redline at 45mph) and a little bit sucky in 2nd (redline at 68mph). Stock with a good driver and no traction control will yield a 15.2 or so.
