actually not to be an ass or nothing. but if your spraying kandy. you can lay over your first base color. then go on top spray your flake. then have your car that color with the flakes. wait 2 days come back water sand with 600 the whole car. lay your 5 coats of kandy and go on top with prolly 2 coats of clear. since your kandy is pretty much like clear, you'll put the 2 just for insurance in case you have to buff.

thats basically a kandy paint job. for house of kolor you have the first base color. then you apply the kandy. there's 12 different bases for 12 different shades of kandy. everyone does paint differently. well at dreamworks our boss who is the painter does his flake a little different, as for myself as well. if your going with ultra mini's you can basically mix that with first coat of clear and then go on top with 2 more and prolly be straight. and not being able to feel the flake. but with the more bigger flakes we would water sand and reclear. b/c too me i dont want to feel the flakes. and as far as flakes some look like dirt in the paint depending on what color. to me thats ugly. i mean i dont know how you flake your cars, but there's many different ways.
