Credit is hard to come by. I have immaculate credit, between my three credit cards I have $14,200 in open credit and a $0 balance on all three. I've never been late and always paid everything off and I still had trouble getting an auto loan (for 16k) for my most recent purchase. I'm 23 so I've only had credit for 3 or 4 years, but I think alot has to do with my $200,000 mortgage and the economy being shitty. Either way it's tough now-a-days.

So it's not just you, you either need to get a strong co-signer or start small with a credit card, buy a beater, and wait a year or two.

The variable rate goes up monthly with them it seems, it was 18 awhile ago.

IF you pay off the balance within 30 days you don't generally pay any interest on it. Rates are jacking up though. My 4.14% capital one card (which was at that rate for 2 years) is now 13.9% for no fucking reason.

Nor do I, but shit happens and it doesn't hurt to have a card in case of an emergency.

you will find you need to use the card from time to time
