I got some responses from other students...they were pretty encouraging...apparently this guy is getting flamed in every which way in his Inbox.
I bet he regrets opening up his little liberal activist mouth:

A student wrote back on campus wide e-mail;

The people you are refering to that should have the car show and trying to
state they are the cause for the environmental problems is a joke. The have
the 1st amendement right to send the email to the people of this University
and advertise their event. Secondly under the guidence of the United States
Constitution they are allowed to assemble peacefully and have their gathering.
You stated that paints cause runoff and harm the environment. Well I hope you
aren't refering to paint running off cars. Because in my experience I have
never seen paint runoff a car and harm the environment. If you have please let
me see this. You also stated driving fast burns more fuel. Are you sure that
everyone in the car show drives fast, maybe some of them just want the car to
look nice and have people admire their work. You shouldn't assume things about
individuals that you know nothing about. I am not a member of the car club and
unitl you sent this email didn't plan to attend. But I think now I will attend
to show my support for people who exercise their rights under the law. Your
statements show pure individual ingnorance because you state things about
people you can't prove you know any thing about. Before you send out such an
email again do your homework, learn about the people first. That would make
your arguements so much more vaild. Thanks.

To those of you who are thinking about boycotting the car show. I say go to
the car show. You get to see some incredible machines in which people have
put thousands of dollars and countless hours into. I know these guys and
there is a lot of work that goes into putting on a show. What if they were to
turn around and say boycott the stupid save the earth program....well they are
not because they have class and are a great group of people.
To you, Kelly, who wrote the email about boycotting the car show. That was
shallow and low. Still, I would not be surprised though if you turned out to
see the amazing vehicles. I guarntee you that you will be amazed with the
machines that will be parked in CNU's parking lot this Saturday.

Come out and support the CNU Motorsports club and make up your own mind. I
will.
