Life expectancy on the e-cutout motor isnt that good for a DD. they get sticky and leak....but i would recommend a manual lever that i believe Jeg's sells

To the OP, if you arent worried about tickets (and an open DP really isn't -that- loud imo, a turbo dampers a great deal of the "loudness" if you were to compare it to open header) then exhaust fumes is the only true "con" in my book, its the only thing that "bugs me" but am very happy with my 4" open DP.
Performance wise, you will have a much better flowing system, which allows for faster spool times and it WILL require a retune, dont be like MANY do and not retune, because of the increased efficiency, you'll likely run leaner or is the norm. So that could be a con unless you get it retuned immediately after going open DP and the most important.

if you run open DP make sure you are tuned for it
believe it or not it makes a different in how rich you run
this is all from a nissan stand point though
