Actually the track those guys are talking about is a road course like VIR, with two major braking zones from 120+ mph to ~40mph, per lap. Figure 10-15 laps per session, so like 20 to 30 hard stops, i.e. plenty of time to heat up brakes so much that the rotors glow red and street pads literally melt while they catch on fire. And that's where 196 of 200 cars are on blanks... because they work better for that.

Notice my focus was on SLOTTED rotors, not cross-drilled as cross-drilled doesn't have the longevity of a blank or slotted rotor. Just because your boyz don't use something "and they race on the track yo so they know everytin" doesn't invalidate the fact that quality slotted rotors work better than a blank and will last just as long for a DD. You can argue against commonsense, engineering, and facts until your blue in the face... whatever floats your boat.

Because why? They drive like grannies or something? Fading isn't going to happen on a track unless your doing back and forth runs several times. LOL you really are a fucking idiot. Only fags drag race.

How much of a disadvantage would someone be at using cross drilled rotors? Currently thats all I have available. Using them with hawk pads for mostly auto-x/street use.

Cross-drilled rotors crack.
How is that all you have available? If I can get brembo blanks for my stock rears, I'm almost positive they make them for the front.

They might crack while beating on them real hard and wear your pads a little faster. Not really a big disadvantage, its just that you spent more money for looks.

This is for the MG. The old rotors were way too worn out to reuse. There was a set of cross drilled rotors from my dads car sitting in the garage so I figured I'd use those.

+1 on regular blank rotors unless you want to spend the $$ for looks.
