yes, i would definatly get a gsr instead of a b16. i had a gsr in my hatch and now i have a b16 and everyday i wish for my gsr back

 

thanks guys, money is def. an issue. b/c if i get atleast 10k for my car, that leaves me with enough to get a EG and probably any motor i want....but i want some xtra play money to build up the head (better cams) and then the usual intake/header/exhaust....

carson, the del sol vtec is one that came with the b16a3...not the one with SOHC vtec (d16z6)...so you dont get confused.

i told carson to go with the b16 because of the rod to stroke ratio...if you plan on revving it out, that and a new oil pump gear will be essential. i guess abit of what i want is rubbing off on you. My suggestion is to get a B16a2, high compression pistons, a set of sick cams + headwork.... but it is your money afterall do what you want.

It just really depends on what you wanna do. Are you gonna boost later? If you are then stay away from a JDM B18C (ITR or GSR), B16B, or B18C5. Dont do what I did. I was just lucky to find a cheap Teg with a JDM ITR motor already in. I think a B18C1 is still the best platform for its price.....

 

b16b is my dream motor

 

Complete waste of money in my opinion.

 

If you are planning to stay NA, I think that engine is a bad choice.
