hmmmm, no. There is traction control, it's called DSC.

2000 was the first year of that model, any E46 over 75k miles is a moneypit, it will see more time in the shop then your garage. Electronics WILL fail. Interior will fall apart. Rattles everywhere.

Basically, besides the engine, it's a piece of shit.

i would have to agree.

i test drove an e46 323i with 60k on it, meticulously kept, but the shifter knob would come off in your hand as you were driving, the cd changer remote did not work, and the car just felt as if it was underpowered. reminded me of my mother's 97 acura 2.2cl... and that's not saying much. with only 160ish hp out of a 6-cylinder, that's pretty disappointing. if you have any interest in finding a 'fun' car to drive i would definitely opt for a 328. also i was distinctly reminded of being inside a jetta while i was driving it... i liked it, but it was definitely nothing impressive, and seemed like it would have ended up costing me a fortune within a few months in nagging maintenance issues.

you could always start looking into e36 m3's...

Now we are talking!! especially in Cosmos Black.

that + contours = :wetdream:

An excellent condition 1999 M3 (coupe) or a 1998 M3 (sedan) is a steal. Drivin experience like no other. Get the GT front end. Fuck, ok i need to go change my boxers now.

only thing about that is you'd expect to pay near 20k for a low-mileage 98 or 99. and what's the difference in driving experience between a 99 and a 97? same motor, same suspension... as far as i knew the only differences were the steering wheel and rear headrests... maybe as a rule they'd be in worse condition but nothing a little maintenance couldn't clear up... and wtf are contours and the gt front end?

i'm still a total noob as far as bmw's are concerned...
