You should push for retail KBB. My insurace gave me retail on my totaled car.

Well, according to them, the scratch on the mirror (Never even saw it) bumped the condition down to good. So I'm just gonna transfer the loan to a personal loan, get the title, buy the car back, and sell of what I can.

This doesnt make any sense unless the other insurance company is denying the claim. This is called subrogation, where YOUR insurance has to settle a claim directly with the AT FAULT driver insurance and getting you paid for anyways. Even so, you may not get $7800 because its not the insurance company who has to pay for a bloated loan balance. I paid $600 for GAP insurance on my $31,000 car, well worth it.

HOORAY FOR GAP!! Its a must if your buying a car off the lot these days! These days with cars getting jacked left and right and inconsiderate fucks going around and hitting peoples cars and not claiming responsibility, its nice knowing that if the car is totalled or declared total loss your covered!

The same shit happened to me with my Extreme. My insurance company settled with the lien holder (in my case my bank) immediatly with the lowest amount that they possibly could so they can get the title released to them so they can hussle my ride off to salvage auction with the quickness to bank on it asap. Then I get shafted with still having to pay the balance on the truck while my insurance company proceeds to bend over the jackass who hit me and pocket whatever they can from him. Its pretty vicious. Two words: GAP INSURANCE!!
