The GTO I wouldn't call a "disgrace" to the GTO name. Nobody calls it a disgrace to the Mustang name that the large majority of them sold are V6. This thing will be even better, 450hp of TT goodness can not be denied its place.

Its a HUGE improvement on the old GNX performance-wise (stock for stock). It has a different body style, but that's expected as the times have changed. At least it looks ALOT better than the new Charger, Camaro, etc. I think saying its a disgrace is just ignorant. Sure the old GNX was sick as fuck, but I think the new one will still uphold the name.

 

the GTO is an American icon, now its not even an American car. Thats what I'm getting at. It just shows how lazy and worthless GM is becoming lately. Take a care that was already built, put a different grille on it, throw in a LS1 and name it something with large american heritage.

Another thing that pisses me off about GM is why they axed the F-body only to gain this pile. I've heard dozens of reason why the late F-body is no longer with us. One of these reasons was because it was outsold by its competition so they get rid of it and then do shit like this. It's stupid and my respect for GM is dwindling by the day with every pathetic marketing move they make.

 

AGREED....GNX was legendary. Does this come close? No but its respectible. A twin turbo V6 with 450hp is not a disgrace. Maybe if they put a v8 in there and stuck some badges on it would but..... thats not what they are doing. I guess if your all about the GNX and that was the greatest car and all then you would be a bit dissapointed with the stylizing or chasis they used. But honestly I could give a rats ass. I like import cars so I am not getting all nostalgic on the mutherfucker

 

I understand your reasonaing as far as the car wasn't designed as an American car but it's being given a HUGE American iconic name...but it's not a pile of crap car...it's a damn good car.
