02-03 vs 04+ wrx whats the big diffrences
i am getting a wrx and i been looking for a few different ones.
what i need is for a few different owners hopefully of both years to tell me the major differences beside the faces.
what do i need to be warned about what are the positives
what kinda ?? should i ask beside the obvious ones
how long do the motors usually last long as hondas
how hard is maintance
i went and test drove a 04 at tyson corner honda and really really liked it
but i have found a few more that i wanna drive or is it pointless to drive anything less than the 04
The only thing i wanna do to the car is bov and exhaust not plannin on trackin the car or racing on the streets if that helps out.

04 transmissions are stronger. Intercooler scoop is bigger, more efficient.
Other than that they're pretty much the same. Rear spring perches are different on the 04...
If you're not planning on making lots of power, or doing clutch dumping drag launches, any year is the same as any other.

BOV on the WRX is pointless and it has been said to hurt the engine. The stock BPV is more than capable of handling good amounts of HP without any problems. From what I've read and heard from other owners is that an aftermarket BOV is a good idea with a FMIC. This doesn't mean rush out and get one though. Just my .02.
Also, I suggest getting on NASIOC and doing some research there, especailly reading the stickied FAQ's b/c they are definitely going to be the most help. As for buying used WRX's, there is an excellent FAQ on NASIOC...here is the link http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1222331
Here is the link for the other FAQ's I was talking about:

Most importnat thing I can tell you is do your research before doing anything to a WRX, they are picky sometimes.
Hope this helps.

If you do want a BOV, get a recirc one like the Forge Motorsports. WRXs have a MAP and a MAF, and don't like having pre-measured airmass being dumped to atmosphere.
yeah some have sunroofs, on the "limiteds". also remember 04+Sti and 06-07wrx are 2.5L all other years are 2.0
If you go to a dealer go to Perry Subaru in VaBeach, or make the drive to Annapolis Subaru in maryland.
