I call everyone I know a ricer that has a import. 100% jokingly. so. the term is loosing its appeal to me honestly. I'm gonna start a new one, that is not "racial" by nature and is just a synonym for Tacky. =]

1) rice is things added to your car which dont make your car any faster.
2) people who rev, and speed in parking lots arent rice. however, usually they have ricey cars, but really they are just random jackasses.
3) theres nothing wrong with rice. because thats their car. can do what the hell they want. If they want to go show to win awards and such, then more power to them. people just like to look down upon them so they can feel better about themselves. but in the bigger picture, who gives a fuck.

simple is better....why spend $1000's of bucks on rims when theres a cheap alternative? i regret getting my rims. im gonna eventually get some SI rims. theres nothing wrnog w/ buying nice wheels though, dont get me wrong...but honda wheels are a affordable alternative.
as for the show car shit..i dont see the point in it UNLESS you have power to back up the silly looks. if you look like the fast and the furious and run 11sec's than i dont think thats rice, but if your riding round with a big body kit and all that stuff, but cant even beat a dump truck, then your definitely a ricer.
besides, why spend tons of money on shit like body kits, alumninum wings, and under glow when is does nothing but attract the attention of the police.

ALSO if you drive an automatic, modify it and have no intentions of swapping the tranny for a standard. RICE...now old muscle cars are an exception

I have respect for both show and go cars. They are in two totally different categories to me. Drivers win awards at NOPI for both fastest and best looking, last time I heard. So if they recognize the two differences, so should most people. I like to see a gorgeous car rolling around. It's defiently a change from the primered shits that roll on the peninsula all day.
But "rice" is an obvious synonym. One can pick them out far beyond all others. It's liek crate said, they are tacky. Even led's or strobe's put in correct places could be cool for show, but it's that tacky guy who revs his engine at you and wants to race (and waste my gas @ $1.78 /gallon) that is the ricer. There is an obvious difference that can be pointed out at any gathering, you'll see.
