for those who work at, Cox // Verizon FiOS
I know some of you on here have to work or know someone who works at one of these places. I also know that Cox pays you like $200+ for getting a new person to join the company, I am sure Verizon does samething of the same... Anyways I would like to get my foot in the door and land a IT/Networking job with one of these places, even if i have to stay off jus riding around with someone and helping them install that's cool... I am not lookin for 40k a year, but something in the 27k and up range would work out great. I reallllllly want a day job (anytime between 7am-9pm) I know I might get stuck working a few weekends here and there but as long as it's only day shifts I will be just fine. I jus can not do nights because I plan to keep my night job at Chichos, and do a few night classes as well.

cable communications and enginering (CC&E) in newport news by the omni and have a branch off greenbrier are subs for cox. its a good start you learn how to install internet, cable and phone in residental. pay was pretty good because i learned pretty fast. they give you company truck and usually are always hiring
didnt fuck me. the boss at the time was cool and i trained with the best tech so the boss liked me. when i quit i was making over 500 a week but got offered a better job so i took it. i was also in good with dispatch so i always got easy good paying routs. i worked in newport news. sometime i had to go over to the southside and the boss over there was a dick head
...im in kempsville area of va beach, soo that would be south side. ;D
but even still I can work for a dick if the money, and hours are good...and if im learning to do what i like to do.. better.

hours will varry. in the morning you get a route the times are 8-10 10-12 12-2 2-4 and 4-6 it changes every morning it is all about the hustle. and not including all the hott chicks aparments you get to go to and install cable and internet. many fringe benefits. the guy who trained me became boss of the penn. side then got offered a job at verizon running fiberobtics. starting out at 26 a hour. just have to start low and work your way up just like any job. best thing is you have no boss over your shoulder. you leave office in morning around 730 and go do your route
