ok i have a question i just turned 18 and i'm goin to tcc but i was looking around at trades and such and my friends all said go check out the shipyard but I don't know anything about it. what kind of stuff can you do and what sort of pay scales are there? any info would be awesome since there is evidently a lot of experience on the board in this field. thanks guys

 

F*CK the yard lol...not to diss the birds or anything, but it sucks. The pay is great, benefits are Brought out to be more than they really are... BUT if you wanna go ELSEWHERE like with a union or some shit after training in the shipyard...you can say you had GREAT training and everyone trusts B.E.T. I and B.E.T. II plus the other shit you get (I'm an electrician). PM me for more.

 

Ive heard this many times: "The shipyard is a great place to get expierence, but if you want to go big, its not the place to be"

 

I am an X42 apprentice, I work in the dry dock too, I have been in the program for about a year, in my fourth semester of school.
