Interesting Read: Virginian Pilot-Reviews 2006 Eclipse
the new eclipses are nice BUT they need something to finish off the bottom of the car.... look at a 2g RS then look at a 2g GS/GST/GSX the side skirts totalllly make the car look better if there was some nice sides as well as a front/rear lip kit the new Eclipse would be hott. and these things are alittle slow off the line but they have a lot of power. get one on the highway and hit the gas, it will pushed back into the seat...then again all cars feel slow off the line when you daily drive a GSX. this car comes loaded with a system and all it's not some cheap speakers either those things hit hard. I am in no way saying this car is the hottest thing out there...but it's not that bad when you look at the other 06 models out. and it's price of 25k fully loaded isnt to bad either when you add up all the stuff you get. this will be my next 'new' car or a G35...no sure yet. lol.
oh and look again at the tails... i dont see ugly cheap red dots. so atlease mitsu did the clear tails and not the gay euros.

Ingenius. Anyways, there's no FWD cars that cut 8.2 1/8th stock. So that's a null and void arguement. Which, btw, S2000's trap like 1mph less than what an srt-4 does in the 1/4 mile according to magazines(sorry, never owned 1, never ran one at a track). So pls, don't try to play the turbo's are the end all to topend power bullshit. Now if we want to be realistic, because obviously you're not...you just try your scapegoat excuse 'find me a stock FWD car that cuts 8.3's!'. Now in a realistic world...I'm sure there are a few engine swapped Honda's running all motor cutting low 8's in the 1/8th...hell, I'll even give benefit of the doubt and say on DR's, and still running low 13's. If a FWD car has the power to get an 8.2 in the 1/8th on street tires(because, obviously they're not doing it with traction, not on street tires), they're going to run better than 15's...15's are way off, hell, we can play magazine racer over at MT or C&D and see that RSX's don't cut 8.2 1/8th's(but they do run 15.0 1/4s, give or take some change), not even on their best day. And in the real world, the new Eclipse will be lucky to run 9.0x 1/8ths, yet alone breaking into the 8's.
The article said the number 8.3, someone speculated that 8.3 was an 1/8mi time. Someone else speculated that with an 8.3 1/8mi it should run low to mid-14s. I said it should do 15's and showed how I came up with that speculated number.
Then I agreed with someone else that 15's seems logical, maybe 14's with some options/mods.
Then you jump your ass in here trying to prove a point that I'm not sure you're aware of yourself.
My point: This car can be expected to run 15's stock IMO.
Your last post: Stock FWD's (I assume this 06 eclipse included) can't even be expected to do the said 8.3 1/8mi, let alone anything lower than 15's.
In trying to prove me wrong, you just agreed with me, and didn't even know it...Just let the shit go...

You're aren't being an ass, and you're right, but I wasn't trying to calculate exact math, just throw out an estimate. Thanks for not being a smartass about it.
I wouldn't even try to come up with the exact math to accurately project 1/4 times based on the 1/8, because none of the math matters until you lay rubber to track...
And then you have other factors to worry about..heat, altitude, quality of the race gas..like I said it would be pointless to try to give an accurate projection because the minute you actually get on the track that projection isn't worth anything...

and this....'Your last post: Stock FWD's (I assume this 06 eclipse included) can't even be expected to do the said 8.3 1/8mi, let alone anything lower than 15's.' Are you just mis-reading the post and don't understand basic English? I've said an 06 Eclipse will not cut 8.3 1/8th miles. A FWD car that can cut an 8.3 1/8th is going to run a low 13 at worst. More likely, it'll be in the mid-upper 12's. A 15sec car will cut 9.5+ in the 1/8th more than likely.
Just because its NA doesn't mean it runs out of steam. You saying that it runs 8.3's in the 1/8th and will run mid 15's in the 1/4 sounds like that bitch is running into a brick wall.
I'm shooting for mid 8's in the 1/8th around 87MPH or so. That should net me some high 12's around 110. I'm NA.
