Default Inspection question

I recently found out that my exhaust pipe has a 2 cuts in it after the cat and was wondering if I can just have the cuts welded and pass inspection. Or do I have to have the piping where the cuts are cut off and have a new one put on. What do I have to do?

Or not. It must be cut out and replaced. or welded up, you CAN NOT patch it and pass inspection.
