this is correct, plus my ac system does not work, im not sure if it is an electrical problem, or if there is no refrigerant in the system, causing the ac clutch to not engage, to find out if this is the case, i plan to put in refrigerant and if everythign works, woohoo, but if it works temporarily, there is a leak, and i woudl hate to lose $70 lb * (maybe 2.5 lbs) just for a test

but now just writing this, i just realized, why the hell dont just jump the (system low on refrigerant) switch.....thanks guys

having no refrigerant in the system will make the clutch not engage.. check your a/c clutch fan fuse too

Id rather use a leak check to find and fix a leak, then fill up R12. I hate this 134 shit.

alright serious question, to just quickly see if there is refrigerant in there, i should be able to quickly press the "schrader" type button and refrigerant will spray out right? should u do this on the high or low side, with the car running or not?

LOW side. Don't fug with the high side. They sell a hand held "UV" light (UV LED) at Advance Auto now to check for leakage.
