From the Dyno Inc saturday night hang out...
They may be the first, but not the only. All Aspects has an AWD dyno and their dyno works flawlessly. We dyno'd at least 20 Mustangs up there one morning with no problems and all put down the numbers they should have. Those guys did an awesome job that day. Took care of the cars like they were their own.
I second that....
Are you dumb?
You can dyno a car in whatever gear you want. The computer that spits out a number can correct for any gear combinitation you want to throw at it.
I have a task for you. Go on the interstate, put your car in forth gear, at 2000 rpm floor the car and dont let out until you have made a full rpm band pull. Also, time it for me, if it takes less than 30 seconds Ill pay pal you 10 bucks. Then do it in third, time this, and tell me which you would rather do all fucking day long.
OMG COMPUTERS COMPUTE CALCULATIONS OF MULTIPLICATION!?!!?!?!
Does this apply only to Fat Nick or others as well? I could used an extra $10 for gas please.
for all those saying gear does not matter. I invite you to a dyno session with me next time. i will show you it does matter. I saw about 3hp gain on my teg just by changing the gear we dyno'd in.
Time vs accuracy of a dyno run is not even close in most cases of how cars are dyno'd these days.
Go rent a dyno for an hour, and your point is true, but on a dyno day when quanity over quality is the name of the game, I along with the crowd of 50 other people dont want to sit there and watch your 47 second long 4th gear pull.
Just food for thought, on a car making 300 hp a 3hp difference is only 1/100th off. Think of how many things in the world have more fault than that.
