From the Dyno Inc saturday night hang out...
I'm glad to know you have lots of experience watching cars on the dyno.
My experience comes from actually USING dynos and tuning cars on them
I've seen plenty of mustang dynos read correctly. It seems like vishnu, dyno inc, and buschur are the only ones that can't get it right.
jsut because a car runs 8s doesn't mean they are experts at every piece of electronic equipment. I know guys with 7 second cars that can't operate a computer well enough to even sign up on dragva or even use the internet for that matter.
gear doesn't matter. If the numbers are entered correctly in the computer, it doesn't matter. some dynos even calculate the gear automatically so it doesn't matter on them either.
wow, 3hp! probably was just a cool breeze at the time of that pull.. do you actually think 3 is significant enough to matter? I'd like to see a car consistant enough to actually give a shit about 3hp.
you fail math and readign comprehension. Go buy yourself hooked on phonics and come back and read this when you learn how: GEAR DOESNT MATTER, THE COMPUTER CALCULATES IT FOR YOU
so who's next?
Anyways, I'm in no way talking shit about the guys at Dyno inc, they seem nice from what i've seen/heard... but something definitely is wrong, in either the calibration, or the settings, or something. the behavior people are seeing is NOT normal for a mustang dyno.

You even have to input the rear end gear on some dynos, I know you have to dyno dynamics. I've seen every little fucking thing you can do with one of those thanks to Brent and Frank @ DTP.I wish them or someone like them or gyl who runs the dyno @Steen would come on here and prove your stupid ass wrong, they actually work with dynos as a living

yes, shorter gearing (more than 1:1) is nothing more than a torque multiplier...it is a mechanical advantage giving more torque output than that to which the engine is putting out. Hence why we try to dyno is the nearest 1:1 gear ratio...you would be suprised by how closely the graphs do turn out though.
