as mentioned before, this has nothing to do with your connection to the Internet (in your case your Cox connection). You are connected to your local area network at that speed. Run an internet speedtest, like the ones on dslreports.com, to find out what how fast your internet connection really is. That screenshot, and all the others like it, say absolutely nothing about how great or crappy your ISP is. When you run a speedtest, you will get output something like the following:

Test running..Downloaded 60900bytes in 203ms
Downloaded 696000bytes in 422ms
First guess is 13194kbps
a FAST line - now test 3mb
Downloaded 1679100bytes in 750ms
Upload got ok 1 bytes uploaded
Uploaded 1bytes in 31ms
Upload got ok 1 bytes uploaded
Uploaded 1bytes in 31ms
Upload got ok 1 bytes uploaded
Uploaded 1bytes in 31ms
Upload got ok 50000 bytes uploaded
Uploaded 50000bytes in 110ms
Upload got ok 750000 bytes uploaded
Uploaded 750000bytes in 438ms

** Speed 17910(down)/14742(up) kbps **
(At least 358 times faster than a 56k modem)
Finish.

So that is 2238.75 KB/sec (2.19 MB/sec) down and 1842.75 KB/sec (1.80 MB/sec) up.

Your download speed : 840434 bps, or 820 kbps.
A 102.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 499550 bps, or 487 kbps.

your download speed should be a bit higher (especially since most cable providers have been upgrading like crazy). the upload speed looks better than most. The thing with cable is, a lot depends on where you live and how many people have cable internet near you. Basically, the more people actively using their cable internet connection in your immediate area, the slower your connection is going to be. If your cable company has upgraded equipment out there, then this will be less of an issue. Try running the test during off-peak hours to see what results you get (also, the closer the speedtest site is to you geographically, the more accurate your results are going to be).
