If you used a Visa or Mastercard, this is not legal in accordance with Visa/MasterCard rules and policies.
Well, depending upon how long ago the purchase was made, but, since its a "defective" battery, I would have to assume it's only days old, else, the battery that someone labeled as "defective" probably has a bad cell due to internal regulator issues (ie. produces far too much voltage and/or a severe drop in voltage).

BTW, if anyone needs any mobile audio & video work done, shoot me a PM. I've been doing this since the womb and now I'm an electrical engineer. I fix cars everyweekend as a part time job (just to kill free time)
