I understand. I did the same thing in high school and now going to school for engineering. Its hard to find a part time job though using cad though that pay anything.

+1

I tried to find a part time CAD job for about a year. Unless your willing to get shitty pay (under $14-16 an hour), your not going to find anything.

I got away with doing part time drafting for a semester a few years ago in northern VA, only because I was working there full time already. I was also yelled after i showed my boss my school schedule after i deliberately remember him saying my education is important.

I'm not sure if they are hiring, but I know some of my friends got hired right out of high school and held part time jobs with Northrop Grumman, CDI Marine, and AGI.

No. i was accepted to ODU but i am doing the Co-Op program through TNCC right now and getting my Associates in Engineering. Then going to ODU to finish up my degree. The co-op program was too good to pass up right now with me being 18 and living on my own. Guaranteed a job when i graduate.

Not sure what though. Considering i will have my degree in engineering and not CADD like all the other designers. My old supervisor told me i should move up quickly though with that degree until i get my bach.
