Sister in a car accident...
Doesn't suprise me really, there are alot of careless truck drivers that I have encountered on I81, I drive it to and from school/work everyday about 30 minutes each way, have been for the past 4 years. My mom has been run OFF the road 3 times by obviously careless tractor trailor drivers, once in between salem and roanoke heading south where it is real steep in the grass, could have been ugly. Oh yea, can't forget the time a driveshift, or section of one, on a tractor trailer FELL OFF the truck while going 70 mph, and all but totaled her car when it hit it.
Guess there are a bad bunch that ruins it for every crowd, I would assume it's hard to be so observant when it's a day to day routine thing, driving such a possibly dangerous vehicle, still no excuse.
Glad she's OK man, just be thankful!

i hate those tractor trailer drivers, on my way back from florida i saw one of those drivers seriously get on your ass till you got out the way and if you stayed there he would get closer and closer to you
I was ran off the road in my Talon on Dec 11th and it was flipped and totales 19 days after i had finished building it. The tractor trailer driver is losing his CDL because that was his 3rd caused accident. Not bashing tractor drivers but they think they are driving miatas or something. Ive been pushed over twice by tractors since then until they realized i was there. Hope your sister is ok man and yeah talk to an attorney about that.
in all honesty the best possible move is to get the name of the tractor trailer driver (obviously im sure you do) and most importantly the company he was driving for...then sue the company he drives for and get them to cover the cost of her car and i guess try and get compensated for whatever else you can.

X2 this guy knows what's up ....
as do I....
I was the corporate liability coordinator for Advance Auto, and I handled auto, property, and asbestos claims. I know how to handle a tractor trailer accident and I know the games they will play.
I'm not sure if I said this or not, but the driver of the truck that she was pushed into told her something that REALLY pisses me off... He said he lost his first truck driving job because he wrecked his truck to avoid a potentially fatal accident. They fired him with the notion that he should have hit the card and possibly killed the other driver instead of damaging his own truck only. They fired him!!! Apparently that's a common thing in the trucking industry, from what he says. They would rather you hurt someone and do minor damage to your equipment than to do major damage to your truck to prevent taking someones life.
Incredible.
