add a case of beer, and you are at 20 bucks. not too bad in these days in time for entertainment.
of course, getting free beer would make it cheaper
From what I am told, the local land owner would not sale the land needed for the 1/4 mile to take place. I would bet that they are testing the waters to see how well the track does before going after the land needed to make the track a 1/4 reality. If anyone wants a larger pic. just let me know.

1/8th though.. well.. it's just another as far as I'm concerned. there are what.. 3 1/8 mile tracks within 45 minutes of Roanoke?
I’m sorry but on a Thursday night if I can choose between driving 45 minutes for a 1/8th mile or 2 hours for a 1/4mile in Bristol, I’ll drive the extra hour and 15 minutes. I guess if I went every week it would be different, but for me if I go I have to take off from work so it only makes since to go to a real track...
Elk Creek sucks. The track isnt even even. It goes down hill then uphill. Plus the right lane is downhill. So if you drive a stick you have to hold either the brake or the e-brake unless you want to roll into a red light.
Elk Creek is also about 1 hour from me.
Shelor MM is about 10-15 mins.
Just plan on more breaks happening at a 1/4 mile track. You have to figure that all the people that race there are local or semi-local. So the track is basically funded my local money. Unless it becomes a NHRA or some other sponsored track I dont think it will be made into a 1/4.
