How in the world do you drive around w/open exhaust and not get a ticket?

I had just put the AFX long tube header+glass pack on my car and decided to give a little test drive (never even made it over 45 mph). Well I drove about a half mile down the road and back before I had the cops called on me. Though luckily my Neon looks like a Grand Am other wise I woulda gotten a couple of tickets.

 

I hear ya, my car only has a cat on it now, and it's just as loud as Jeff's car. I'm afraid to give it gas around town it's so damn loud!

Yeah, but have you guys ever been pulled over in blacksburg for the exhaust?

I got pulled over the weekend in lynchburg by a state pig...I told him I was on the way to the exhaust shop, and he bought it.

 

Never in B'burg, but L'burg/Madison Heights are the world's worst about pulling people for that.

 

I dont think anyone has much to worry about in blacksburg about exhausts, i cant think of ever seeing a summons for it in court.

i ran my talon the other day with no exhaust (not even a downpipe, O2 housing open to atmosphere) because one of the bolts holding my downpipe on broke and the vibration made hte other bolt losen itself.. so i just let the downpipe sit on the crossmember out of the way until i could change the bolts.. it hurt my ears (severely) above 4500 RPM, and sounded like a cross between a top fuel dragster and a high powered vacuum cleaner shoved in my ear. i am surprised i didn't get a ticket.. although it was fun scaring the ricers.. and these old rednecks i passed by i think probably shit their pants... (judging by the looks on their faces)
