I don't let people drive my car. I don't intend to let someone else dyno my car either. What if something happens to the car? Someone else is running it hard on the dyno and it throws a rod or something.. It's not their fault, but it happened when they were behind the wheel; Would have eventually happened anyway probably, but they're certainly not going to be liable for anything that happens to the motor--are they? Who would? I wouldn't expect them to, but I have to say.. if something happened to my motor with someone else behind the wheel of my car, I'd be upset. If it breaks, I want to be the one breaking it--unless someone else is paying for it.

you sign a waiver before you get on the dyno... any dyno.

to me, even though the circumstance is different, that's like me taking my car to the track, and signing a waiver to let someone beat on my car and not hold them responsible for anything that they may do to it (including wreck it)..... I couldn't do that.
Maybe I'm crazy. I am crazy, actually.

Honestly?

Were you paying for your EVO that you crashed?
Honestly?
Honestly? Also, the contract does'nt say anything about them not being liable for the car flying off the dyno into oblivian. It's only they saying they are able to run your engine up to the rev limited and if your motor flys apart, it's not liable on them. I mean, what if your running a dyno and some ricer brings in his home-made turbo kia or something up there and it blows his shit up, you would'nt want to be liable for it would you? If i owned it, it would'nt let anyone run their car on it, simply because there are more idiots out there than not. Things could always still go wrong, but if you take out that moron variable, it's alot less likely.
Oh, i've always been anal about my vehicles. I would'nt even let girls lean up against my CRX and i actually washed that pos probe. If you think i'd put my R in a situation in which it was in danger, you are very very mistaken.
I know taking the moron out of the equation eliminates most of the room for error.. If I owned the place, I would do the same thing they do, but there's something that would really bother me about my car breaking with someone else behind the wheel--regardless of whether it was going to happen anyway or not. Does that make sense? If something is going to break, and I'm going to be the one to suffer the consequences and pay for it out of my pocket, I want to be the one that gets to destroy it. I've spent far too much money on this car, and maintaining it.... $4200 transmission. You can bet your ass that if it breaks, I'm going to be the one who breaks it.

Yup, and that's why you're allowed to do the pulls if you wish. As long as the car is strapped down right and car is mechanically sound, there's really not a huge risk to your car anyways. Yea, i've seen videos of cars coming off dynos, etc. But those are either due to improper setup or cars with SERIOUS power. I don't think our 100-300 hp cars are at much risk.
Plus, Jarel (I think that's how its spelled), the guy that has been doing this kind of stuff for a long time and realy knows what he's doing. They have dyno'd a 700+hp and 900+tq Dodge SRT10 on their dyno with out a problem so I wouldn't worry.
