See a pattern here? If I didnt mention it before spend the money now, get a lawyer, and possibly make out with your lic and not doing any time. Dont and youre taking a knife to a gun fight.

BTW, best of luck whichever way you decide to go.
I can definitely appreciate your response with the been there, done that attitude instead of the "WHAT? ARE YOU STUPID???? YOU WENT ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT! YOU DESERVE IT! DIE! BAN!" lol...

I'm definitely going to talk to an attorney and see what they think. On a personal note, the trooper (who was very down to earth and personal with me) told me there was about a 60% chance that I'd be wasting my time in Bedford getting an attorney for a 107/55... but I'll see what they attorneys say and if they feel like there's a good shot, I'll do it. I just don't want to spend $1500 or something ridiculous only to still lose my license and go to jail. I don't have a clean driving record and that's what's really going to hurt me but I have no criminal background or anything. My recent tickets are REALLY going to kill me because it looks like there's a recent pattern in speeding!

We've all screwed up at one time or another so theres no reason give you a rash of shit when Ive made the same mistake not to mention prolly everyone on here has as well to some extent but they havent gotten caught (yet).

Dunno if this helps but you might give Barry Tatel a call. Hes my lawyer and has saved me from becoming bubba the 600lb power lifters cell mate/girlfriend more than once and is hella smart. He got a bud of mines brother out of 6 (yes thats SIX DUIs and yes hes an idiot) before he went to jail for more than a weekend. His 7th one got him a year in the clink but needless to say he should have been locked up way before that IMO. None the less Barry kept is ingnorant ass out of jail for 6 DUIs (among other tickets he racked up at the same time) so hes smart as hell.

Dunno if he works Bedford county or not since all the above was in Roanoke county but it may be worth a phone call considering its free as well as his initial consoltation(sp?).

Bedford's law enforcement has things on lock down...

If you do dumb shit, you will be caught.

If you don't get caught the first time, you will the second.

When you are caught, you're going to get shit on so bad you never will do it again.

Behave in bedford.

To answer the question.... Look like a nice little country boy... bedford people love that.

Someone just brought up something in another thread and got me thinking..

The officer did not read me the Miranda Rights. I know it's a whim, but doesn't that sort of make the charges null and void if they slip up and don't read your rights? He put me in handcuffs and said he had to take me in. We talked casually on the ride to the station but he never read me my rights.

Here's a little piece of advice. If you try to get off on a technicality, you better be damn sure you are going to get off. If not, they will give you the maximum fine and/or jail time. Judges hate that more than anything. Put yourself in their position... someone comes in who has obviously been caught doing something very illegal, then uses a technicality to say "even though I did it, you can't do anything about it". You'd be pretty pissed too.

Take it like a man, apologize, and tell them you won't do it again.

Besides, I believe they only have to read your rights to you if it's a violent crime. I'm not positive about that though.
