He want a brand new Viper or what?
Name some other cars... She isn't bent on it. I tried to get her to get a 335i first. That really would have been for me.

No, he doesn't want a new Viper. He wants a 1997-2002 GTS.

No joke.

The C230 is an entry level Mercedes, at best.

Yeah, it is the lowest you can get.

But we're not rich either... So a Mercedes is pretty nice either way, especially to my parents whose nicest car ever was a newer model Camaro Z28.

The C230s are neat cars - dont worry about the fact that they're entry level - its a mercedes...you get plenty of features and great fit/feel.

The new C300 is a sweet looking entry level MB, I'd check into like like you said - the front end looks pretty cool.

I'm not bashing here.. I just feel like they could get a better car for the money, and not be buying into the cost of owning a brand, you know what I mean?

I mean, hell... They're in the same price range as the Nissan Maxima and the Mazda 6, which IMO are both better cars for the money and they're cheaper to maintain. Much cheaper! I don't know what kind of warranty Mercedes is offering now either, but I know there are a lot of cars out there that are doing 100k now.... I just saw a commercial for Dominion Dodge and they're doing free oil changes (in addition to 100k powertrain) for 100k miles. It seems like the dealerships/manufacturers have started to realize they have to offer a lot more bang for the buck to attract buyers. I assume that's mostly true with US made cars, anyway.

I understand these things... But remember something. A woman is buying the car, not me. She cares nothing about the warranty, the power, the reliablity... She wants something that looks good. That is it. You have a GF correct? Try using logic with her when it goes against something she wants. Yeah, it gets you nowhere.

She has already looked at Toyota Camrys, Maxima's, etc. and all where a no. My dad is at the point now where he doesn't care. He will just get her what she wants. She isn't set on a Mercedes though. She could care less about the name. She just likes the looks.

You don't have to tell me that dude! Mine bought an expensive convertible she really couldn't/shouldn't have bought... and I don't even know if she test drove it first. She saw it, and she wanted it. She wouldn't let me go to the dealership with her to keep her from getting screwed over, and now she's locked in and regrets it. Love her to death, but damn she's stubborn! lol
