Join Green Ridge. We're joining there as soon as we get our tax returns back (which should be any day now).

We were RAC members for a couple years. It's okay, but very expensive and way overcrowded. YMCA isn't much cheaper. The only plus that YMCA has going for it (in my opinion) is that the local triathlon club meets there for group swim training. The pool at Green Ridge is 20 yards, as opposed to 25 yards at the RAC and YMCA, but that's not a huge deal to me.

Green Ridge isn't all that cheap either, but that's not that big of a deal to me. It's $42 a month for county residents. I checked it out after talking to you and your wifey about it, and it looks really nice. A few people I know go there and like it.

I've got a stack of cash that I just got done counting that's probably all going towards a new car but anything left over is going to buy a decent road bike and hopefully we can ride in the spring. I get my license back on Thursday

Yeah, it's $42, but the RAC is like $80 a month. We were getting the Carilion discount at the RAC and it was still almost $90 for us. Green Ridge is like $62 for the county rate. Even though we don't live in the county, they do this thing where if you have at least 20 people at your work place that join you get the county rate, and there are tons of people at Carilion that switched from the RAC to Green Ridge.

You don't have to have any triathlon experience. This will be the first one for me and the other person on the team as well.

We have the bike and run leg covered, but if anyone is interested in doing the swim, let me know.
Bro. Just swim it! I've been running, biking, swimming for the past couple weeks now. For some reason when you mentioned that June tri in the bike thread, it got me really interested in tri's. Swimming is IMO the toughest part just because it's so much more technique than the other 2. But it makes for a lot of fun/exercise.

Well, my main problem is we're going to be out of town for almost two weeks before then. Coming back the day before actually. So, I don't want to commit to doing the whole thing when I'm not sure if I'll be able to do any kind of workouts the weeks before it. I don't think I'll have any problem doing just the bike leg though...
