wow 24 psi i can,t go past 6lbs on my gto.
you may want to get a cometic head gasket, are you using factory head bolts or head studs.

even a slight hint of knock is a big no no with boost, you need to get the car fixed and join us at shelor

Sounds like he might have had a cometic copper HG, if you used copper spray, thats not gonna be fun cleanin that shit off for this next go round, lol.

ruquick, why can't you go past 6 psi? Just from what people say, "rule of thumb" kinda thing?

I saw you dyno, you don't really need more haha, but hey why not..

garn number 7 cyl is the weak link in the ls2 and ls1 engines when you apply boost why i don't know?? i have heard on some people pushing the issue and end up costing them even when the tune is dead on.

the main thing with the gto is weight and wheel hop

I see, i have heard of this kinda thing with other cars too, a particular corner/bank that has a problem of destroying ringlands, I think it usually ends up being related to cooling in that area lacking or slightly uneven fuel distribution. Guess pushing the limits should be left to project cars

if you're running ARP's run the MLS gasket and torque em to 100, works for me. also make sure you do the re-torque. if you never do that, that is probably what got you. and don't worry about having to clean that copper spray off, the coolant getting pushed out helps wash all that off for ya, haha..

sure have best e/t so far is 11.4 @125 mph 2.2 60ft on 18inch drag radials full weight 3,900lb terrible wheel hop off the line and a slipping clutch, it may not be the fastest car out there but it will hold its own.
