Good God....TEN pages?!?!?
When running brackets I nor any other "real" racer I know will back peddle/lift due to a red light unless you KNOW the other guy didnt red light worse that you (in eliminations). During time trials if you lift you have a 100% chance of wasting that run where as if you didnt then you may see something in the time slip that can be corrected/improved upon for the next round.
I dunno about the rest of you but runs are few and far between when the track is busy so I dont dont want to waste any of them. The ONLY reason I lift is if Im heading for the guy in the other lane. Im not there to tear up someone elses car but as long as Im headed straight, for the wall, or sideways and but not pointed toward my opponent then I stay in it. The crowd likes it, I enjoy the excitement of getting to turn the stearing wheel for once, and my wife flips out when she sees the truck get sideways (<its entertaining..trust me).
Happy Memorial day BTW.

Well put and this is the situation here he was still dialing in the car to see what it was running.
