I purchased a custom downpipe from Brad on march 23rd. The idea behind the downpipe was to re-route the exhaust from open downpipe for track, to stock exhaust for street. I was to use an e-cutout to choose from the two options.

Here is a picture of a similar looking downpipe. Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the one he made. This might help show you what I’m talking about.


Again, this is NOT the downpipe, this is just a picture of a similar setup that I located.

It took me over a month to receive the downpipe, 10 days longer than he guarantees to the customer. He put me off on 3 dates to pick up the pipe and finally on the day that I went to pick up the pipe, I had to wait there 4 hours for him to finish it. After arguing with him about how he didn't make the downpipe to fit with the setup I had given to him in the beginning, I left his house with no downpipe yet again.

He misplaced and forgot about the flange I had to supply to him and didn't cut the smaller piping that ran to the stock cat. The 2” pipe was still protruding into the 3” free flowing exhaust, blocking 3/4's of the air flow. The rerouted piping wasn't even long enough to reach my stock cat and pointed to the side of the car rather than towards the rear. In addition to all this, he made the 3 inch free flowing part of the downpipe too low, so even if I was to use it it would require me making a monthly order for an e-cutout after I lost it in the middle of the road somewhere.

This all cost me $300. Plus an additional $20 for the flex pipe, 6 bucks for a flange, and $12 to cut and re-weld my Peakboost dumptube he didn't take into account for. Not the mention the time and gas I spent driving back and forth to Hopewell. This wouldn’t have even taken into account the $50 I would have spent to have an exhaust shop to extend the piping he didn’t buy enough of to begin with.

So I finally get the downpipe and breathe a sigh of relief, right? Wrong. I go to attach the downpie and it doesn't clear the charge piping AT ALL! There would be NO way to make this downpipe work unless I was to do some SERIOUS fab work.

I contacted Brad immediately and explained the situation. He offered me a complete refund and I felt better. One month later and hundreds of empty promises, I get back less than 2/3's on what I paid him to create that downpipe. I settled with that and figured it would be a lesson learned.

By the way, the eBay stuff he sells doesn't fit at all. It took some serious hacking and re-welding to get the charge piping to fit. I understand this is a common occurrence, even with well known companies, but this was a little over the top.

With mixed reviews about S-Fab and Brad Sebera in the beginning, I chose to go against better judgment and ended up getting screwed.

 

ouch........but one question. did you leave him the car to fab the pipe up or was he doing the fab work blindly without being able to fit anything up ? its one hell of a task to make a perfect custom downpipe for a car that you cant test fit anything on, especially a d/p of that sort....either way it sucks for you losing money, im glad i read the s-fab thread reviews, after seeing all the complaints and asking a few people some questions about there products , after finding out alot of it was ebay stuff i am glad i decided to put my own kit together....on one hand i understand why the guy is late on orders since he does all that stuff by himself and is always super slam busy, on the other hand i dont cause ya shouldnt take orders if you cant give the customer what they want,id rather have no customer than multiple bad reviews, i always do my best to make sure my customers are happy with the work they get from me and i do whatever it takes to fix it.....except one time,but it was completely justified.hahaha....

 

He was using a b16 to mock the downpipe up. He had my manifold, dumptube, wastegate, turbo and even my other downpipe to help him mock it up.

 

damn dude..that sucks.....sorry to hear that.....i have not purchased anything from brad.....but! i have heard that he takes a while to get shit done.

I have a right to defend myself, so here i go

Richy was asked (with several people as witnesses) for a FULL refund before picked the stuff up. I let him know it was $208 to make the down pipe the way he wanted it made. Also let him know his Down pipe from Peak boost wasn't a AC friendly downpipe unless he dented the down pipe in. Also his Peak boost dump tube was out of alignment for BOTH down pipes and had to be altered.

I let him know before hand a FULL refund on EVERYTHING was possible, only then because i knew his friends would find something to flame, as they do EVERY one of my threads. But hey, you gotta expect haters.

I also let him know that if he accepted the down pipe, because of the situation their will be NO refund and that the payment on it would be sent to pay off the credit card I put his materials on.

That night I bull shitters (not saying who so don't say I'm pointing anyone out) start shit in all my threads, as usual.

Richy's buddies took pics and talked mess, then Richy wanted a full refund for everything. (even though the down pipe fit, but he took his AC off to fit his peak boost. He later claimed he needed the money back ASAP because he was dead broke and he had a anniversary w/ his GF. Me being nice said Id offer a refund and i was working to come up with a solution. I asked him if 200 as a refund for the down pipe would work, he said yes. that would be great. We met up, he showed me the setup. He was nice and everything was fine, until i saw all the threads he started bashing in the other night.

I didn't have his setup to use for "perfect fit" because its his only car. The down pipe did fit, but the premium Charge pipe kit (look below) that i sold him for $200 with couplers and T bolt clamps and a full hardware kit, Didn't fit w/o modifying to work w/ the down pipe setup he wanted.. Their are two sides to this story, and i see Richies has changed a lot since i talked to him for some reason, But I'm sure he was pros waded to change.




I dont know why you decided to make these posts richy, as you agree'd with everything and never seemed to have any issues. It almost seems like you planed to make this a disaster from the start? or was that after persuasion?

 

Yes, it takes a while. Everything is hand made and topnotch stuff. Manifolds take 20-33 hours of fabrication, alone a peace.

I don't sell Ebay parts either. BTW. is Ebay a brand? just wonder... cuz some1 joked that i have a Ebay civic and how his Honda civic was better.

All charge pipes / welds, manifolds, down pipes, dump tubes are TIG welded by me. I'm a one man ship with a lot of people wanting services. I take 7 orders and freeze. I now take 1 at a time, as wait times can get out of control sometimes.
