Yes you do... I had to grind off my vin, go to the junk yard and find a miata, then weld it to my car.... it was lots of work but so worth it!

 

Last year ther were some very fast RX-7's w/ bigger turbos etc... they were great competition. Mazdadrivers is the sponsor but lots of everything enters. There'll be 20 or so vettes, a few Vipers, and you're normal splattering of Porsches etc.

BTW RX-8's are truly pathetic...

Heh, that shows ya how long it's been since I attended a Mazda club event... last one I went to was 60% Miatas, 40% RX-7's... and nothing else!

Last year I was surprised because there really weren't very many miatas or 1st gen rx-7's. There were a healthy number of quick 3rd gen 7's though.

 

Yeah I was at VIR one time a few years ago, I think it was with NASA or Speedtrial, and a single turbo 3rd gen RX-7 came by me on the back straight like I was standing still. He had to be going 150+ and he was shooting huge fireballs between shifts. Ever since then I've secretly been trying to figure out a way to afford one of those cars
